Time is a Black Circle (Dawn Ng)
Graphic assistance for bringing this circular time portal to life, as well as designing the key visual.

Time is a Black
Circle by Dawn Ng was the key installation of the Singapore
Night Festival 2023, organised by the National Heritage Board. Held in the National Museum, the work is a
cylindrical roller disco capturing the ephemerality of the 60s and 70s.
I worked closely with
Dawn, the
team, and Singapore Night Festival to produce the gradient wall, as well as create the key visuals for the
installation.
Key Visual

The key visual aimed to capture the visual language of the 60s and 70s through vinyl records.

Experimentation with a balance of “carelessness” in typography observed in references.

Gradient Wall
The gradient wall was conjured to evoke the hues of the 60s and 70s. Starting off with colours picked off a series of images curated by Dawn. A series of gradients were created, each increasing in complexity and nuance.
