Identity design for a community-centric coffee roaster in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

I worked closely with the founder of Bad Artist Coffee Co. to design the visual identity, packaging, and templates for physical collaterals. Additionally, a brand guide was compiled to assist with good practices surrounding brand assets.

The Bad Artist wordmark, almost sketchy and out of shape, was designed to capture a fearless and unapologetic approach to approaching coffee-making — to embrace imperfection in the process.

Take out all the baristas with mullets, the unnamed gadgets, the seemingly extravagant costs, and start your journey as a Bad Artist. No barriers of entry here. Maybe you’ll even graduate with a B.A. certificate! Bachelor of Arts? No! Bad Artist certificate. Join a community of coffee lovers and start experimenting with coffee, learning from and with like-minded individuals. No matter where you are in your journey, there are no bad mistakes here.
